Frequently Asked Questions
This page is here to help you feel clear, confident, and ready before we begin our tattoo journey. I want you to feel supported and informed through every step of the process. This FAQ page includes everything you need to know before submitting your tattoo request, but I’ve also included links to a few posts on my blog if you feel called to delve deeper.
Read through the sections below — then submit your Tattoo Request when you’re ready to create something soulful and intentional together.
Still uncertain about what kind of ink you’re looking for? That’s completely okay. Some of my favorite projects begin with only a feeling, theme, or loose idea. If you’re drawn to my work but unsure of the exact direction, feel free to reach out on Instagram via DM — I’d love to connect with you. We can explore concepts together and shape something unique through the consultation process.
Consultations & Appointments
After you submit your tattoo request, I will reach out to you over text to begin the conversation. We’ll go over your project details together — via FaceTime, phone call, text, or in-person (if you are local to the Salt Lake City area) — depending on your location and preference.
If it feels like the right creative fit, I’ll walk you through next steps in the booking process to place a non-refundable deposit and reserve your spot in my calendar.
Each tattoo is a collaborative process. I design every piece specifically for your body, style, and story. Most designs are shared on the day of your appointment, so we can make edits and intuitively finalize the direction together.
Rate & Booking Info
My pricing is structured by session length to prioritize creative flow and collaborative depth. All projects are booked in full-day or half-day sessions, so that we can take the time needed to make something truly powerful and personal.
CURRENT RATES:
FULL DAY SESSION (large-scale/ custom work): $1400
HALF DAY SESSION: $800
BACK-TO-BACK SESSIONS (2 consecutive full days): $2800
TOUCH-UP SESSION (~1 hr, within 1 year): Free
Deposits are non-refundable and will be applied to the final cost of your tattoo.
Guest spot and travel pricing may vary depending on regional market rates, shop fees, travel expenses, and project scope.
While I primarily focus on larger-scale projects, I occasionally accept smaller pieces for returning clients, meaningful concepts, or projects that strongly align with my artistic vision.
Cancellation & Rescheduling
Please understand that your session time is reserved specifically for you — and short-notice cancellations make it hard to fill that spot. However, I do understand that life happens. If something does come up:
Please give me at least 48 hours’ notice for cancellations or reschedules.
Less than 48 hours’ notice = deposit forfeited.
One reschedule is allowed per project. A second reschedule will require a new deposit.
Same day cancellations or no-shows will also result in a lost deposit.
If you are sick, or someone in your household is sick, please let me know — we will find a new date. (Just don’t come in sick, promise?)
Quotes & Project Planning
Every body is unique, and every tattoo project is as well. I offer personalized quotes based on:
Tattoo placement and flow
Size and dimension
Subject matter and technique
Level of detail
Skin type and body anatomy
Estimated session count and scheduling flow
Larger projects such as full sleeves, back pieces, or body concepts are typically completed over multiple appointments, often booked in consecutive full-day sessions for optimal creative flow and continuity. For large-scale freehand work in particular, consecutive sessions allow the composition to unfold more organically and cohesively across the body.
Once we’ve discussed your concept and design goals, I’ll provide an estimated session range for completion.
Tattoo Day Preparation
The time we set aside together is more than an appointment — it’s a ritual of transformation, empowerment, and embodiment. We want you feeling your best and set up for success.
How to Prepare:
Get a good night’s sleep
Stay hydrated in the days leading up to your appointment (your skin will thank you)
Eat a solid, well-balanced meal before your appointment
What to Bring:
Snacks + drinks (with electrolytes!)
Headphones and something to watch or listen to (if desired)
Comfortable black or dark-colored clothing that gives easy access to the area being tattooed
An open mind and willingness to trust the process
What to Avoid:
Alcohol, NSAIDs, or recreational substances (for at least 24 hours before your session)
Bringing extra guests (unless you truly need support) — I recommend coming solo for the best experience. You’ve got this. I’ll be with you every step of the way.
Touch-Ups
The price of your tattoo includes one free touch-up within a year of your session — because your skin’s healing journey matters just as much as the art itself. A small, fully refundable deposit may be required to hold the appointment.
Touch-ups outside of that time frame, or multiple touch-ups, may require payment.
To request a touch-up appointment, reach out to me directly.
Still Have Questions?
You’ll find more answers and inspiration on my Blog, but the real magic starts with a Tattoo Request. That’s where you share your vision — even if it’s only a spark of an idea — and I’ll bring my expertise to make it into something more beautiful than you imagined.
For smaller questions, feel free to send me a DM on Instagram or email me at fineartunbound@gmail.com.
